Hello Lincoln Families,

We had a great start to the school year! Over the next couple of weeks, our class will continue to practice routines and procedures. The wonderful thing about taking the time for this practice is that once these routines are in place, our classroom will run smoothly the rest of the year. It all takes a little time, but will be worth it! We discussed this week's class expectations for all of us. Collectively we came up with the "Class Expectations" contract and agreement. Each of us signed it. This is part of the Football Field and Class Clips which are both incentives where students can earn yards and then touchdowns to celebrate their individual as well as class success for meeting the expectations. Some students have already earned touchdowns and the rest of the class is on their way! Once our School Planner arrives the procedure for celebrating a touchdown is for the student to write what they achieved in the planner and then I will sign my initials. In the meantime, if your child tells you they earned a touchdown that's probably the case:) If you have any questions, you can email me.

Thank you for all the school supplies you have donated to the class! In the summer I put together individual "tool kits" for every student. These included glue sticks, markers, pencils, scissors, sticky notes, etc. I also put together the various notebooks and folders they will need to begin and use throughout the year. Putting all this together in the summer eases the workload for me once the school year actually begins. The donated supplies sent in from the families will be used for replenishment throughout the year. We have a very large class and will use most if not all of what the school, all of you, and myself have provided. Thank you for your contributions! They are very much appreciated!!

Students will be taking the NWEA in math and reading this next week starting on Tuesday. We will test in the mornings. If at all possible please try to schedule appointments in the afternoon. Thank you for your consideration.

Fall Conferences will be on the half days of Thursday & Friday, October 14th & Friday15th. Parents/Guardians get the option of virtual or face-to-face. Conferences will be Student-Led meaning students will need to be present for the conference. I realize not all schedules will allow for this. However, if at all possible please pick a time that will.  I prefer to stick to both of these days since our class is so large with 28 students. Thank you for your consideration. Important Information

We have a peanut-sensitive classroom. Below is a list of snacks and foods allowed in our classroom for everyday snacks, and holiday parties. All of these items need to be packaged and bought from a store, unopened with visible food labels. No homemade items.
In addition, please make sure that everyday snacks sent in are also quick and easy for your child to handle. For example please no yogurt, pudding, uncut fruit, or messy items for everyday snacks. This avoids spilling on our school devices, furniture, etc.  Thank you for your understanding.

We love to celebrate birthdays! For students who would like to celebrate their birthdays in our class please bring in non-food items. For example instead of cupcakes maybe pencils.
